Master Fleet Operations with a Paper Trail

Fleet roles live on documentation. Hiring managers want someone who can keep vehicle files clean, spot cost leaks, and keep drivers on schedule without drama.

    1. Show your system: On your CV, describe how you track maintenance schedules, fuel logs, or licence renewals. Mention any software you've used, even spreadsheets.

    2. Know the local rules: Be ready to talk about Kenyan traffic laws, NTSA processes, and how you verify documents like logbooks or insurance.

    3. Cost control stories: Give a concrete example of how you cut fuel costs or negotiated with a garage. Numbers speak louder than adjectives.

    4. Communication matters: You'll coordinate drivers and vendors. Prepare to explain how you handle conflicts or delays without breaking relationships.

    5. Attention to detail: Expect questions on how you catch fake documents or spot maintenance red flags. Share a time you caught an error before it became a problem.

    6. Tech comfort: Be ready to demonstrate Excel skills, like pivot tables or simple formulas, to show you can manage data.

    7. Ask smart questions: In the interview, ask about the fleet size, typical routes, and how maintenance decisions are made. It shows you're thinking operationally.

    8. Plan your first 90 days: Outline how you'd audit current records, set up a maintenance calendar, and build a fuel tracking sheet. It shows initiative.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
