    Job Description

    This role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing daily herbs production activities to meet organizational targets. The specialist will monitor crop growth, manage pests and diseases, and ensure proper post-harvest handling to maintain quality standards. Additionally, the role includes supervising field teams, maintaining accurate records, and researching improved production techniques.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily herbs production activities and implement production plans aligned with organizational targets.
    • Monitor crop growth, development, field performance, and ensure effective land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, weeding, pruning, and harvesting.
    • Monitor and manage pests, diseases, and other crop production risks using appropriate crop protection practices.
    • Ensure proper harvesting, sorting, grading, and post-harvest handling to meet quality and hygiene standards.
    • Identify opportunities to minimize post-harvest losses and improve product quality.
    • Maintain accurate production, yield, harvesting, and field activity records.
    • Supervise and train field teams on effective herb production practices and monitor adherence to production schedules.
    • Ensure proper use and availability of farm inputs, equipment, and production resources.
    • Monitor production against targets, prepare reports, conduct field assessments, and recommend improvements.
    • Research improved herb production techniques, varieties, and farming practices and support expansion and value-addition initiatives.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, Crop Science, or a related field.
    • 7 years' progressive experience, including at least 5 years in agriculture, specifically horticulture or beekeeping.
    • Practical commercial herb production and crop management experience.
    • Strong knowledge of horticulture, crop health, pest/disease management, and post-harvest handling.
    • Experience supervising agricultural field teams and coordinating farm operations.
    • Knowledge of sustainable and efficient agricultural production practices.
    • Willingness to work in field and remote operational locations.
    • Strong reporting, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
