Show HR Process Savvy Before You Walk In

HR internships attract many applicants with generic CVs. Hiring managers want proof you understand confidentiality, documentation, and the rhythm of recruitment and onboarding.

    1. Tailor your CV to HR keywords: Use terms like CV screening, interview scheduling, employee records, and onboarding. If you have any HR-related coursework or projects, highlight them.

    2. Prepare for HR scenario questions: Be ready to discuss how you would handle a confidential employee issue or a scheduling conflict. Practice structured responses.

    3. Brush up on MS Office: Expect to be tested on Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas) and Word (formatting letters). Review common functions.

    4. Know basic labour laws: Familiarize yourself with Kenya's Employment Act, especially around contracts, leave, and termination. You may be asked about compliance.

    5. Show organizational proof: Bring examples of how you've managed multiple tasks or maintained records, even from school or volunteer work.

    6. Emphasize soft skills: Highlight your communication, professionalism, and attention to detail in your CV and interview. Give specific examples.

    7. Research Morsan HR Consulting: Understand their services and client industries. Mention how your skills align with their work.

    8. Ask thoughtful questions: Prepare questions about the internship's learning outcomes, mentorship, and potential for growth. It shows genuine interest.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
