Instrument Laboratory Analyst

This role involves testing food and non-food products using chromatographic and elemental analysis techniques. The analyst ensures compliance with QA/QC systems, ISO 17025, and GLP, while maintaining accurate results and meeting turnaround times.

• Test food and non-food products using chromatographic/elemental/instrumental analysis per SOPs and standards.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory QA/QC system, ISO 17025, and GLP.
• Employ good instrumental techniques (GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, GC-FID, ICP-OES, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer).
• Ensure accurate and reliable test data within acceptable repeatability/reproducibility.
• Adhere to turnaround times and meet client testing requirements.
• Follow health and safety measures for hygiene, sample testing, retention, and disposal.
• Apply correct methods and standards consistently, including sample preparation.
• Maintain raw data support for results before approval.
• Ensure laboratory housekeeping and a clean, safe environment.
• Keep abreast of analytical standards and develop new methods.
• Work flexibly to meet 24/7 service needs.
• Highlight competency issues and provide training as mentor or trainee.
• Provide cross coverage for sample registry duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry, or equivalent qualification from recognized institution.
• Minimum two years laboratory testing experience preferably in a multi-purpose laboratory.
• Good knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001 and HSE standards.
• Work with minimum supervision.
• Satisfactory capability in application of the relevant testing protocol.
• Have sound knowledge of laboratory work particularly instrumental methods used in trace analysis.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with the laboratory's QA/QC system and more specifically ISO 17025.
• Ensure that all results and test data produced is accurate, reliable and within acceptable repeatability/reproducibility.
• Ensure that health and safety measures are adhered to in regard to general hygiene, sample testing, sample retention and sample disposal/destruction.
• Ensure that clients testing requirements are met fully met and set turnaround time is complied with at all times.
