Master the Client Conversation: From Lead to Policy

This role is all about turning prospects into policyholders. Hiring managers will look for evidence that you can build trust, explain complex products simply, and close business consistently.

    1. Show Your Sales Track Record: On your CV, quantify your achievements. Instead of 'responsible for sales', write 'generated 20+ leads monthly and closed 15 policies per quarter'. Numbers speak louder than vague claims.

    2. Know Your Products Inside Out: Be ready to explain different life insurance products, their features, and how they fit various client needs. Study the Kenyan market and common products like endowment, term life, and whole life.

    3. Prepare for the 'Why Insurance?' Question: You'll likely be asked why you chose insurance sales. Have a genuine, personal answer that shows you understand the value of protecting families and businesses.

    4. Practice Your Pitch: You may be asked to role-play a sales scenario. Practice explaining a policy to a potential client, handling objections, and closing the sale. Keep it clear and confident.

    5. Highlight Your Customer Service Skills: Insurance is about relationships. Give examples of how you've handled difficult customers, resolved complaints, or gone the extra mile to ensure satisfaction.

    6. Understand the Regulatory Environment: Familiarize yourself with the Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) requirements and the basics of the Kenyan insurance act. This shows you're serious about compliance.

    7. Be Ready to Talk About Targets: Expect questions about how you handle pressure and meet sales targets. Share a time you exceeded a target and how you managed your time and pipeline.

    8. Ask Smart Questions: Prepare thoughtful questions about the team, the products, the target market, and what success looks like in the first 90 days. It shows you're genuinely interested and proactive.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
