Show Your Deal Sheet and Leadership Trajectory

This role sits at the top of an investment banking platform, so the hiring panel will scrutinize your ability to originate, structure, and close transactions while running a brokerage business. Your CV must prove you can generate revenue and lead teams, not just list responsibilities.

    1. Quantify your deal impact: For every transaction you list, include the deal size, your specific role, and the outcome. For example, 'Advised on a $50M acquisition, leading due diligence and financial modeling, resulting in successful closure.'

    2. Highlight P&L ownership: Emphasize any budget or revenue targets you've owned. Use numbers to show growth, like 'Increased brokerage revenue by 30% in two years.'

    3. Showcase your network: Mention key relationships with private equity firms, corporates, or investors. Be specific about the sectors and geographies you cover.

    4. Prepare a deal pipeline: Come with a list of potential deals or clients you would target. This shows initiative and strategic thinking.

    5. Demonstrate leadership style: Describe how you've mentored teams and built a culture of high performance. Give an example of a team you developed.

    6. Know the Kenyan market: Be ready to discuss the local M&A landscape, regulatory environment, and key players. Show you understand the market's nuances.

    7. Polish your pitch: You'll be presenting to clients, so prepare a crisp, compelling pitch for a hypothetical deal. Practice your delivery.

    8. Align with the bank's strategy: Research the bank's current focus and articulate how you can drive growth in line with their goals. Show you're a strategic partner, not just a banker.
