Show Your Surgical Precision on Paper

This is a senior medical role where your CV must reflect not just your qualifications, but the depth of your surgical experience and leadership capability. Hiring panels for cardiothoracic positions will scrutinize your track record in complex procedures and your ability to manage a team.

    1. Detail your surgical caseload: Quantify your experience with specific numbers, such as the number of open-heart surgeries performed or the types of procedures you've led. This gives concrete evidence of your expertise.

    2. Highlight your leadership training: The posting requires a Strategic Leadership Development Programme certificate. Emphasize any leadership roles you've held, such as heading a surgical unit or mentoring junior doctors, to show you meet the managerial capability requirement.

    3. Showcase your ICU management skills: Since the role involves managing recovery in the ICU, describe your experience with post-operative care, ventilator management, and handling complications. Provide examples of successful patient outcomes.

    4. Emphasize your computer skills: The posting requires computer application skills. Mention specific software you're proficient in, such as electronic medical records (EMR) systems, surgical planning software, or data analysis tools, to demonstrate your technical readiness.

    6. Align with public service values: As a county government role, emphasize your commitment to serving the community and working within public health systems. Highlight any experience in public hospitals or outreach programs.

    7. Verify your documentation: Ensure all your certificates, licenses, and registration are up to date and easily accessible. The application process will likely require you to upload these documents, so have them ready in digital format.
