    Job Description

    This role involves diagnosing and treating skin, hair, and nail conditions, including performing minor surgeries and offering aesthetic procedures. The specialist will also educate patients on skincare and disease prevention, and manage chronic skin conditions. The position requires advanced medical qualifications and registration with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Examine patients' skin, hair, and nails.
    • Identify conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, fungal infections, and skin cancer.
    • Order and interpret lab tests or skin biopsies when needed.
    • Prescribe medications creams, ointments, oral drugs.
    • Provide treatments for chronic conditions like dermatitis or rosacea.
    • Manage infectious diseases affecting the skin.
    • Conduct minor surgeries e.g., mole removal, cyst removal.
    • Perform skin biopsies.
    • Treat skin cancers using procedures like excision or cryotherapy.
    • Offer aesthetic procedures such as chemical peels, Botox, and laser therapy.
    • Treat scars, wrinkles, and pigmentation issues.
    • Advise on skincare routines and hygiene.
    • Educate patients about preventing skin diseases e.g., sun protection.
    • Counsel patients on managing chronic skin conditions.
    • Track patient progress and adjust treatments.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery M.B.Ch.B degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Master of Medicine in Dermatology.
    • Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six 6 weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
    • Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
