    Job Description

    This role involves evaluating patients to determine if surgery is necessary, interpreting tests and imaging, and explaining risks and benefits. The specialist will perform a broad range of surgeries, including hernia repairs, appendix removal, gallbladder removal, bowel obstructions, and cancer removals. They will act as first-line surgical help in emergencies, manage acute injuries, and provide follow-up care in the ICU or hospital ward. The role also includes utilizing laparoscopic keyhole techniques for faster recovery times.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Evaluating patients to determine if surgery is necessary, interpreting tests labs, imaging, and explaining risks and benefits.
    • Performing a broad range of surgeries, including hernia repairs, appendix removal appendicitis, gallbladder removal gallstones, bowel obstructions, and cancer removals e.g., breast, colon.
    • Acting as first-line surgical help in emergencies and managing acute injuries or conditions.
    • Providing follow-up care in the ICU or hospital ward, ensuring patient recovery, and managing surgical complications.
    • Utilizing laparoscopic keyhole techniques for faster recovery times.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery M.B.Ch.B degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Masters in family medicine.
    • Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Valid practicing license from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
    • Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six 6 weeks from a recognized institution.
    • Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution.
    • Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
