The IT function enables the organization to achieve its mission through the delivery, support and continuous improvement of technology products, platforms and services used globally. This role will be responsible for the quality assurance of application releases through thorough execution of integration, functional and regression testing of SCI's core business applications, minimizing bugs, issues and failures being identified post release.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Partner with Project Managers, Developers, and Solution Architects to ensure test deliverables meet quality standards, project requirements, and agreed timelines.
    • Define, document, and maintain testing strategies, plans, scenarios, test cases, and test scripts to support comprehensive test coverage across projects and releases.
    • Lead the execution of functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing using both manual and automated testing approaches to ensure release readiness.
    • Analyse test results and provide quality assessments and release recommendations, enabling informed go/no-go decisions for production deployments.
    • Manage and coordinate testing resources and activities, including virtual and third-party testing teams, to ensure effective and timely delivery of testing objectives.
    • Oversee test cycle execution, defect management, and status reporting through JIRA, ensuring visibility of quality metrics, risks, and progress.
    • Monitor production releases and post-release issues, driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce recurring defects.
    • Produce and communicate quality dashboards and test metrics, providing stakeholders with regular insights into testing performance and release quality.
    • Champion a culture of quality across the organisation by promoting testing best practices, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and proactively reducing user-reported defects.

    • Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including Unit, Functional, Integration, Regression, System, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) within Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
    • Experience implementing test strategies and frameworks that support Integration Testing, Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD) in Agile environments.
    • Hands-on experience with manual, automated, and performance testing tools, ensuring robust and efficient test coverage across applications and platforms.
    • Strong proficiency in Jira and associated testing and reporting plugins, including defect management, test execution, and quality reporting.
    • Ability to analyse user stories, business requirements, and functional specifications and translate them into effective test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
    • Demonstrated experience managing defects and issue-tracking processes, including prioritisation, root cause analysis, and release readiness assessment.
    • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, supported by exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
    • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with experience working successfully across cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, business users, and offshore delivery teams.

Master the Art of Test Strategy and Defect-Driven Communication

In this role, you'll be the gatekeeper of release quality, so your ability to design comprehensive test plans and communicate findings clearly will be under the microscope. Hiring managers will probe how you've handled tricky releases and how you've used data to drive decisions.

    1. Showcase your STLC expertise: Be ready to walk through your experience with the full Software Testing Life Cycle, from requirement analysis to test closure. Highlight specific examples where you've applied each phase in Agile and Waterfall projects, and how you ensured comprehensive coverage.

    2. Prove your Jira mastery: Since Jira is central to defect management and reporting, demonstrate your proficiency with concrete examples. Mention how you've used Jira to track test cycles, manage defects, and generate quality dashboards that informed go/no-go decisions.

    3. Highlight your automation toolkit: Discuss the specific tools you've used for automated and performance testing, and how you've integrated them into CI/CD pipelines. Show that you can not only write scripts but also maintain and improve test frameworks.

    4. Prepare for scenario-based questions: Expect questions like 'How would you test a new feature with limited time?' or 'How do you prioritize test cases?' Practice structured answers that show your analytical thinking and risk-based testing approach.

    5. Emphasize collaboration and mentoring: This role involves mentoring peers and working with cross-functional teams. Share examples of how you've coached others on testing best practices and how you've built strong relationships with developers and product owners.

    6. Quantify your impact: Whenever possible, use numbers to illustrate your achievements, such as 'reduced post-release defects by 30%' or 'increased test coverage by 50%'. This makes your experience tangible and compelling.

    7. Show your passion for learning: The posting emphasizes continuous learning, so mention any recent courses, certifications, or self-study in emerging testing technologies. This shows you're proactive about staying current.

    8. Tailor your CV to the role: Use keywords from the job description, such as 'test strategy', 'regression testing', 'CI/CD', and 'defect management'. This helps you pass ATS filters and shows you've read the posting carefully.
