Master the Multi-Market Visual Merchandising Screen

This role demands a blend of creative flair and operational discipline across African markets. Hiring managers will probe how you've translated brand strategy into store-level displays that actually move product, so come armed with proof.

    1. Showcase your regional playbook: Bring a portfolio that details how you've rolled out visual merchandising standards across multiple stores or markets. Highlight specific examples where your displays lifted sales, and quantify the impact where possible.

    2. Prove your training chops: Since you'll coach store teams, prepare to discuss how you've upskilled others. Share a concrete example of a training session you led and the measurable improvement it drove.

    3. Demonstrate budget stewardship: Expect questions on managing display budgets and vendor relationships. Have a story ready about delivering a project on time and under budget without compromising quality.

    4. Show cross-functional collaboration: You'll work with Store Development, Design, and Operations. Prepare examples of how you've aligned with these teams to ensure seamless execution, especially during store openings or refurbishments.

    5. Highlight your analytical side: Visual merchandising is data-driven. Be ready to discuss how you've used sales data, customer flow, or turnover per square metre to inform layout decisions.

    6. Prepare for travel logistics: The role requires extensive travel across Africa. Show you're organized and adaptable by discussing how you've managed remote store audits or coordinated with teams in different time zones.

    7. Know the local market nuances: Research retail trends and competitor activity in key African markets. Mention how you've tailored visual strategies to local consumer behaviours in past roles.

    8. Polish your software skills: While Microsoft Office is a must, familiarity with planogram tools or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. If you have experience, highlight it; if not, show willingness to learn quickly.
