How to Apply: Interested and qualified candidates should forward their CV to hr@ayazproperties.com using the position as the subject of the email.

Beyond the Shelf: Excelling as an FMCG Merchandiser

As an FMCG Merchandiser, your impact is direct and visible on the shop floor. Hiring managers for this role look for candidates who understand the nuances of product placement, stock rotation, and building strong relationships with retail partners. Showcase your ability to drive sales through effective merchandising strategies.

    1. Quantify Your Merchandising Impact: On your CV, don't just list duties. Highlight achievements like "Increased product visibility by 20% through strategic planogram implementation" or "Reduced out-of-stock incidents by 15%." Use numbers to demonstrate your effectiveness in previous roles.

    2. Showcase Retail Relationship Skills: This role requires strong rapport with store managers and staff. In your interview, share specific examples of how you've successfully negotiated prime shelf space, resolved stock issues, or gained support for promotions with retail partners.

    3. Detail Your Stock Management Expertise: Explain your process for monitoring stock levels, managing expiry dates, and ensuring product availability. Discuss any systems or methods you've used to optimize inventory and minimize waste, showing your proactive approach.

    4. Highlight Promotion Execution Experience: Describe your experience in setting up and executing in-store promotions and installing point-of-sale (POS) materials. Provide examples of successful campaigns you've contributed to and the results achieved, such as increased sales during promotional periods.

    5. Demonstrate Market Awareness: Discuss how you monitor competitor activities and adapt your strategies. Show that you understand market dynamics and can provide valuable insights from the field, which is crucial for daily merchandising reports.

    6. Emphasize Reporting Accuracy and Timeliness: The posting mentions daily merchandising reports. Explain your commitment to accurate data collection and timely submission. Discuss any tools or software you've used for reporting and how your reports have informed decision-making.

    7. Illustrate Independent Work and Travel Readiness: Since the role involves working independently and traveling, provide examples of situations where you've managed your territory effectively, met targets without constant supervision, and handled logistical challenges on the road.

    8. Connect Skills to FMCG Context: While communication and negotiation are general skills, tailor your examples to the FMCG environment. For instance, how did your negotiation skills secure better display locations for fast-moving consumer goods, or how did your organizational skills streamline product replenishment?
