    Turning Community Connections into Revenue

This role sits at the intersection of community trust and commercial growth. Hiring managers will be looking for proof that you can nurture relationships and convert them into tangible results, not just activity.

    1. Show conversion thinking: On your CV, highlight any instance where you turned a lead or referral into a paying client or donor. Use numbers: how many leads, what conversion rate, what revenue impact. Even small-scale examples from volunteer work or internships count.

    2. Prepare a mini market map: Before the interview, sketch out who Ubuntu's referral partners might be in Nairobi — hospitals, schools, community groups, corporates. Show that you've thought about where the next clients will come from.

    3. Practice the follow-up story: Be ready to describe a time you followed up persistently on a lead without being pushy. Hiring managers want to see your system for tracking and nurturing relationships.

    4. Know the nonprofit context: Understand that sales in a foundation means balancing mission and revenue. Mention how you'd approach marketing for a cause-driven organisation without underselling the services.

    5. Bring a reporting sample: Since the role requires regular reports, prepare a simple example of a lead tracker or a weekly report you've created. It shows you're organised and data-literate.

    6. Brush up on social media for outreach: The role involves promoting via social media. Be ready to discuss how you'd use platforms like Instagram or LinkedIn to reach target communities and partners.

    7. Think about retention: The job mentions improving retention. Have an idea for keeping existing clients engaged — maybe a feedback loop or a loyalty touchpoint.

    8. Ask smart questions: Prepare two or three questions about Ubuntu's current referral network, their biggest marketing challenge, or how they measure success. It shows genuine interest and strategic thinking.

CareerSasa Safety Alert: Never pay employers or agencies for interviews, training, or job placement. Does a job request payment? Report it immediately using the "Flag" button. While CareerSasa vets job postings thoroughly, always verify opportunities independently.
