Master the Art of Prospecting in Insurance Sales

Insurance sales is about building trust and persistence. As a Sales Intern at Jubilee Life, you'll be expected to prospect, present products, and hit sales targets. Show that you understand the local market and can handle rejection with resilience.

    1. Highlight your sales drive: On your CV, emphasize any sales or customer-facing experience, even if it's from school projects or part-time work. Show that you're comfortable talking to people and persuading them.

    2. Understand the product: Before the interview, research Jubilee Life's insurance products. Know the difference between life, health, and investment plans. This shows you're serious about the role.

    3. Show your digital skills: In today's world, insurance sales involve using digital tools for tracking leads and presentations. Mention your proficiency with MS Office, CRM software, or social media for marketing.

    4. Prepare for target-based questions: Expect questions about how you would meet sales targets. Use the STAR method to describe how you've achieved goals in the past, even if they weren't sales-related.

    5. Emphasize your discipline: The role requires self-drive and discipline. Give examples of how you've managed your time, met deadlines, or worked independently.

    6. Know the industry regulations: Familiarize yourself with the Insurance Act and the code of conduct. This shows you're aware of compliance requirements.

    7. Practice your pitch: Be ready to give a 30-second pitch on why someone should buy insurance. This demonstrates your communication skills and product knowledge.

    8. Show your commitment: Since it's an internship, express your eagerness to learn and grow. Mention that you're open to training and willing to put in the effort to succeed.
