    Mastering Trade Partner Relationships

This role is the bridge between your brand and the agents who send you guests. Hiring managers will look for proof you can nurture relationships, follow through on details, and keep communication crisp under pressure.

    1. Showcase your follow-up system: In your CV or interview, describe how you track agent communications and follow-ups. Mention tools like CRM software or even a well-maintained spreadsheet if that's what you've used. Give a concrete example of a time your follow-up turned a lead into a booking.

    2. Prove your event coordination chops: Fam trips and trade shows demand logistics precision. Talk about a time you coordinated travel, schedules, or materials for an event. Highlight your ability to manage multiple moving parts without dropping the ball.

    3. Demonstrate brand consistency: Agents receive countless offers; yours must stand out and stay on-message. Prepare examples of marketing emails or collateral you've created that kept the brand voice consistent. Explain how you ensure every communication aligns with the brand's image.

    4. Get comfortable with numbers: Sales roles often involve tracking performance. Be ready to discuss how you measure the success of your communications or campaigns. Even basic metrics like open rates or response times show you're data-aware.

    5. Prepare for role-play scenarios: Expect interviewers to simulate a call with a difficult agent or a last-minute change. Practice staying calm, solution-oriented, and professional. Show you can think on your feet while keeping the relationship positive.

    6. Highlight your cross-team collaboration: You'll work with Reservations, Front Office, and Operations. Give examples of how you've aligned with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. Emphasize your ability to communicate clearly across functions.

    7. Show your proactive side: Managers want someone who doesn't wait to be told. Describe a time you spotted an opportunity or a problem and took initiative. Whether it's suggesting a new promotion or streamlining a process, show you're a self-starter.

    8. Understand the hospitality context: This isn't a typical office sales job; it's about experiences. Show you understand what makes a great guest stay and how agents influence that. Mention any travel or hospitality experience, even if it's personal, to demonstrate your passion.
