    Master the Sales Leadership Interview

This role is about driving a team to hit targets while keeping the bank's standards intact. Prepare to show how you've coached reps, turned around underperformers, and used data to steer your team's daily activity.

    1. Quantify your sales wins: Bring numbers to the table: your team's monthly acquisition rates, conversion improvements, or revenue growth under your leadership. For example, say 'grew new-to-bank customers by 20% in six months' instead of 'increased sales'.

    2. Show your coaching style: Expect questions on how you develop your team. Describe a time you identified a skill gap, ran a training session, and saw measurable improvement. Mention how you balance coaching with holding people accountable.

    3. Know the regulatory landscape: Brush up on the Banking Act, CBK prudential guidelines, and credit policies. You'll be expected to ensure your team sells within these rules, so be ready to discuss how you've handled compliance in past roles.

    4. Prepare a field activity plan: Hiring managers want to see you can manage a mobile sales force. Outline how you'd allocate territories, set daily call targets, and use field visits to monitor performance and give real-time feedback.

    5. Demonstrate cross-selling skills: This role isn't just about new customers; it's about deepening relationships. Have examples of how you've cross-sold products like loans, accounts, or cards to existing clients to boost revenue.

    6. Handle underperformance head-on: Be ready to discuss a time you addressed a low performer. Show you can have tough conversations, set clear improvement plans, and make decisions that benefit the team and the bank.

    7. Show you're a brand ambassador: Sales activations and promotions are key. Talk about how you've planned and executed marketing events, coordinated with stakeholders, and measured their impact on customer acquisition.

    8. Ask smart questions: End the interview by asking about the team's current challenges, the bank's growth targets, or how success is measured in the first 90 days. This shows you're strategic and genuinely interested in the role.
