Show Your Courtroom and Client Chops

This role is for a seasoned advocate who can own complex disputes and keep clients calm. Hiring partners will look for proof you've run matters end-to-end and can bring in business.

    1. Lead with your wins: On your CV, list the most complex matters you've handled, your role, and the outcome. Use numbers where possible, like settlement amounts or win rates.

    2. Show leadership: Highlight times you've supervised juniors or pupils. Give examples of how you delegated and reviewed work, and how you helped them grow.

    3. Prove business development: Mention any pitches you've supported or clients you've brought in. Even if it's small, show you understand revenue targets.

    4. Prepare for technical questions: Be ready to discuss recent case law and procedural changes. Review key decisions in litigation and arbitration.

    5. Demonstrate client care: Have stories of how you've managed client expectations under pressure. Show you can give practical advice, not just legal theory.

    6. Know the firm: Research Summit Recruitment and Search and the legal sector in Kenya. Understand their clients and reputation.

    7. Polish your drafting: Bring samples of your best legal drafting, like pleadings or contracts. Be ready to explain your choices.

    8. Be ready for a panel interview: Expect questions on ethics, confidentiality, and risk management. Have examples of how you've handled tricky situations.
