    Job Description

The Commercial Supervisor drives urban and peri-urban sales of high-tier solar products and accessories, Referral Agent network performance, and portfolio health. The role recruits and manages a Referral Agent network, onboards third-party partners mobile telephone dealers, contractors, electricians for lead flow, runs local pull-sales promotions and direct sales, validates every completed installation within 72 hours, and carries ultimate ownership of the credit/debt portfolio generated in the urban and per-urban location. Two things happen on every case without exception: every completed installation receives a 72-hour validation site visit against approved forms and SOPs, and every non-performing account gets a same-day response from this role before it gets escalated to the Collections Department.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Field mentorship — shadow, coach, and actively performance-manage Referral Agents in the urban and peri-urban location; keep the network active and supported, not just recruited.
    • Lead tracking & conversion — maintain strict use of SOL.RM's Prospecting App for every Referral Agent lead; provide hands-on support to maximize conversion into closed sales.
    • Direct sales — pitch and close solar products and mobile phone solutions directly, complementing Referral Agent volume and covering key customer catchment locations the Referral Agent network doesn't reach.
    • Service Center sales support — support in-store sales promotions and activations at peri-urban Service Centers in the location.
    • Third-party partner servicing — maintain relationships with onboarded mobile telephone dealers, local contractors, and electricians to keep referral volume steady.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration or a related field.
    • 6 years' experience within service subscription industry/Micro Finance/Asset financing leading a team.
    • Sales Success Track record
    • Loan Sales & Portfolio Management experience
    • Experience in the development of Sales Strategies and loan collection strategies.
    • Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
    • Good oral and written communication
    • Experienced at multitasking under pressure against demands and deadlines, whilst always maintaining a positive and constructive attitude and demeanor
    • Evidence of the practice of a high level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality and maturity
    • Flexible approach to working, able to pick up a variety of tasks/projects with minimal supervision
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Agility and innovation

Prove You Can Run a Sales Network and Protect a Portfolio

This role is not just about closing deals — it's about building a referral engine and guarding the credit book. Hiring managers will look for evidence that you can manage agents, convert leads, and act fast on delinquent accounts.

    1. Show your numbers: On your CV, quantify your sales achievements and portfolio performance. For example, state the size of the team you led, the sales targets you met, and the collection rates you maintained.

    2. Prepare a network playbook: Be ready to explain how you recruit, train, and keep referral agents motivated. Have a specific example of a time you turned around an underperforming agent.

    3. Know your credit metrics: Understand terms like PAR (Portfolio at Risk), collection efficiency, and delinquency. Be ready to discuss how you would handle a non-performing account before escalation.

    4. Demonstrate field presence: Emphasize your willingness to be in the field daily, shadowing agents and visiting installations. Share a story that shows your hands-on approach.

    5. Highlight tech adoption: Show that you are comfortable using apps and CRM tools. Mention any experience with lead tracking or prospecting software.

    6. Show integrity under pressure: This role demands high integrity. Prepare to discuss how you handle fraud concerns or ethical dilemmas in sales.

    7. Communicate your strategy: Be ready to outline a 90-day plan for ramping up sales and improving portfolio health in an urban/peri-urban area.

    8. Ask sharp questions: In the interview, ask about the current referral agent network size, the typical portfolio size, and the support structure from collections. This shows you are thinking about the real challenges.
