We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Senior to provide comprehensive tax compliance, advisory, and dispute resolution services to a diverse client portfolio. This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong technical expertise in Kenyan tax legislation, hands-on experience with iTax, and the ability to manage client relationships while delivering high-quality, timely solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and file tax returns including Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax, and Turnover Tax in compliance with Kenyan tax laws.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax returns through the KRA iTax system.
Monitor tax compliance calendars and manage statutory deadlines for assigned clients.
Support tax advisory and planning engagements, including transaction support, restructuring, and optimization initiatives.
Research, interpret, and apply updates in Kenyan tax legislation, regulations, and KRA guidelines.
Represent and support clients during KRA audits, assessments, objections, and appeals, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
Maintain high standards of professional ethics, documentation, quality control, and risk management.
Act as a key point of contact for clients on tax matters and provide practical, business-oriented tax advice.
Identify opportunities for cross-selling and additional advisory services to existing clients.
Contribute to proposal writing, client presentations, and business development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as KESRA, CPA, ACCA, or an equivalent certification.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in tax within a professional services environment (Tax, Audit, Accounting, or Law firm).
Strong working knowledge of Kenyan tax legislation, KRA regulations, and iTax processes.
Proven experience in tax compliance, advisory, and dispute resolution.
Excellent analytical, communication, and client relationship management skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
