    To support the continued growth of its Consulting and Advisory practice, RSM is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and results-driven Transaction Advisory Manager to join its Nairobi-based team.

    This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned finance professional with strong transaction advisory expertise to take on a leadership position within a dynamic, fast-growing consulting environment.

    The Transaction Advisory Manager will play a central role in delivering high-value advisory engagements across business valuation, financial due diligence, corporate restructuring, and transaction support, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments.

    Working closely with the Consulting Partner, the successful candidate will be responsible not only for technical excellence and project delivery, but also for client relationship management, team leadership, quality assurance, and business development. The role combines strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and commercial acumen with people leadership and client-facing responsibilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Lead, manage, and oversee complex transaction advisory engagements, including business and enterprise valuations, financial and commercial due diligence, corporate restructuring and turnaround advisory, and mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures.
    2. Take full ownership of engagements from planning through execution and final delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
    3. Apply sound judgment and professional skepticism to identify key risks, opportunities, and value drivers in transactions.
    4. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned engagements.
    5. Build strong, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including C-suite executives, boards, investors, and financiers.
    6. Act as a strategic advisor, translating complex financial analysis into clear, actionable insights that support informed decision-making.
    7. Proactively identify client needs and opportunities for additional advisory support.
    8. Review and provide strategic direction on financial models and valuation methodologies, due diligence findings and risk assessments, and restructuring frameworks and financial recovery plans.
    9. Ensure analytical work is robust, defensible, and aligned with international best practices and professional standards.
    10. Support clients in evaluating transaction structures, pricing considerations, funding strategies, and post-transaction implications.
    11. Oversee the preparation, review, and finalization of high-quality client deliverables, including valuation reports, due diligence reports, transaction advisory memoranda, restructuring and turnaround plans, and strategic recommendation papers.
    12. Ensure all deliverables are technically sound, clearly articulated, and tailored to client needs.
    13. Maintain compliance with RSM’s internal quality controls, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
    14. Manage engagement economics by overseeing budgets, resource allocation, timelines, and billing.
    15. Identify and mitigate engagement risks, ensuring appropriate safeguards and escalation where necessary.
    16. Balance commercial considerations with professional integrity and quality delivery.
    17. Lead, mentor, and develop senior consultants, consultants, and junior team members.
    18. Provide on-the-job coaching, performance feedback, and career guidance to support professional growth.
    19. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on excellence, learning, and accountability.
    20. Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives within the transaction advisory team.
    21. Actively contribute to business development initiatives, including proposal and pitch development, client presentations and meetings, and thought leadership content and market insights.
    22. Support the expansion of existing client relationships and the development of new advisory opportunities.
    23. Work with the Consulting Partner to identify market trends, emerging opportunities, and new service offerings.
    24. Collaborate effectively across audit, tax, and consulting teams to deliver integrated solutions to clients.
    25. Work within multicultural and cross-functional teams, demonstrating cultural awareness and adaptability.
    26. Support internal initiatives aimed at improving methodologies, tools, and service delivery models.
    27. Support the Consulting Partner in shaping the transaction advisory service offering.
    28. Contribute to the development and refinement of methodologies, templates, and best practices.
    29. Strengthen RSM’s market presence and brand as a trusted transaction advisory firm.

    Required Qualifications

    1. Mandatory Professional Certifications: ACCA or CPA (K) certification. CFA designation is a strong advantage.
    2. Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution. Postgraduate qualifications in finance, strategy, or management will be an added advantage.
    3. Experience Requirements: Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in transaction advisory, corporate finance, valuation, restructuring, or financial consulting. At least 3 years of prior experience in accounting or audit, preferably within a professional services firm. Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and managing multiple engagements simultaneously. Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
    4. Analytical and Financial Expertise: Strong expertise in financial analysis, valuation techniques, and financial modeling. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools. Experience with data analytics tools is an added advantage.
    5. Client-Facing and Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively. Strong presentation skills for engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers. Confidence and professionalism in high-level client interactions.
    6. Leadership and Project Management: Proven project management capabilities, including planning, execution, and delivery. Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and motivate others. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
